Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk’s neuroscience startup Neuralink on Friday unveiled a pig that has had a coin-sized computer chip in its brain for two months, demonstrating an early step toward the goal of curing human diseases with the same type of implant.
The mysterious Neuralink chip was previously in the headlines when the founder of the company, Elon Musk, said that the chip will be able to stream music straight into the wearer’s brain–and now, the tech CEO has revealed more details about it.
He’s pioneered several multi-billion dollar companies, launched one of his cars into space, and now Elon Musk wants to hack your brain.
Elon Musk said Neuralink will need time, and expertise, to fulfill its potential, but the company hopes to start human tests next year.
On July 16, Musk’s AI company Neuralink will have its first big reveal via a live event that will be streamed online.
