After studying history and Islamic theology in college and seminary in 1964-1971, I joined Boeing Aerospace as a SALT (Strategic Arms Limitation Talks with the USSR) and nuclear-war and arms control analyst in 1977. When my group's principals moved to Wahsington, DC to staff the Reagan Administration, I joined them on a 2-man White House Defense Transition Team. From there I moved to Congress (the House) to help start the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI: aka Star Wars), including the US 'mutual SD plus nuclear reductions' negotiating position at SALT. After leaving the Hill, I started technical newsletters on military space, then consulted for DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects) and SDI for 5 years. I then joined a technology intelligence firm where clients included Office of Sec'y of Defense - Advanced Systems and Concepts, US Navy, US Army, NASA, SDI program and commercial clients. As a result of all this work, I have studied and proposed radical alternatives to virtually every warfare area while assessing over 20 different industries, from space internet, cheap poor-country medical wearables via cellphone-to-satellite comms, artificial intelligence and subarctic hard-rock mining to rare-earths extraction and extracting the world's trillions of barrels of unconventional oil and gas. I have written book-length marketing studies - and also spent 4 years as a charter member of Washington, DC's famed Capitol Steps musical-comedy troupe. I now live in the Seattle metro area.
