Speaking in an interview with Lisa Kennedy Montgomery on Fox Business, Andy Danziger, who was once the pilot responsible for making sure Obama got where he needed to be before he became president of the United States, had previously served as a pilot on a regional airline.

The experience he recalls occurred in 1989 during a routine flight from Kansas City to Waterloo, Iowa.

It had been a clear night and the aircraft had reached a cruise altitude of 15,000ft when the crew spotted what looked like a full moon partially obscured by thin cloud some way in the distance.

It wasn’t the actual moon because that was visible as a crescent in another part of the sky.

The object remained stationary in the sky for around 40 minutes. As the crew got ready to descend for landing in Waterloo, Danziger recalled observing what he described as a “gigantic red ball” above the clouds in front of them.

It was so large that it took up almost half of the window.

As the plane descended, the object began to be increasingly obscured by cloud. When it was completely behind the clouds, it triggered a flashing light show that left the crew stunned.

As the clouds separated, the flashing stopped and the object had completely disappeared.
